Through NLN's air freight forwarding services, you can move goods from point A to point B quickly, safely, and dependably. Whether you're preparing a large cargo shipment for next week or need to contract air charter services to get your time-sensitive materials to their destination tomorrow, we are firmly committed to your needs and your deadlines. We'll carefully oversee the process, from onloading to offloading to customs clearances (Candian destinations) and everything in between.
There's more to air freight forwarding than speed — although it's often the quickest method for time-sensitive or time-critical shipments, with the capability to deliver within the same day via "next flight out" or a charter cargo plane reserved exclusively for your goods.
As your air freight forwarder, National Logistics Network can carefully and efficiently orchestrate all aspects of the process through our partners, including transportation, loading and unloading, and customs and documentation. It is our pledge to deliver your goods on time, as scheduled. Explain your needs and we'll take care of the rest.
Barring adverse weather conditions, air freight cargo departure and arrival times are among the most trustworthy in the business. There are no stops until the plane lands, and real-time tracking means you'll know exactly when it does.
Air freight shipments are thoroughly inspected and heavily regulated, and airport terminals and receiving areas are closely monitored, so you can rest assured that your goods will be good to go upon arrival.
Air freight can be carried on a variety of cargo planes, charter planes, and even commercial airlines. With commercial flights scheduled regularly, it's possible to adjust shipping schedules literally on-the-fly.
Shipping through the air opens the possibility of delivery to nearly any destination, even remote or difficult-to-reach locations.
What is an air freight forwarder?
An air freight forwarder is an agent that organizes an air shipment on your behalf, collaborating with a carrier (or carriers) to hammer out the logistics of getting your goods to their destination through the most efficient means possible.
What is meant by "next flight out?"
When we say "next flight out," we mean next flight out! NFO is a premium service option shippers can select when they can afford absolutely no more delays. Cargo will be loaded on the next available flight capable of accommodating it, helping ensure it arrives on the tightest of schedules.
How are air freight shipping costs calculated?
Air freight shipping costs are calculated by either actual weight or volumetric weight; whichever is higher becomes the chargeable weight. To determine volumetric weight (sometimes also referred to as "dim" or dimensional weight), multiply width times length times height and divide (the volume) by the carrier's dimensional factor. Dimensional factors vary depending on whether imperial or metric measurements are being used, whether the items are being shipped domestically or internationally, and at what speed or priority.
If my shipping destination is not close to a major airport, can you still deliver the next day?
Even if your shipping destination is not close to a major airport, in many cases we can still find a way to deliver the next day. Air charter services exclusively reserve cargo space for your freight and make it possible to deliver to more remote locations on short notice.
Do you ship internationally?
National Logistics ships internationally throughout North America, including to Canada. We obtain all customs and clearances to facilitate the seamless transport of goods between countries.
When is air freight forwarding the best value?
have a smaller shipment than would make sense for ocean transport but you want the additional assurances and security often provided by air carriers. There are some cases where a project delay or interruption can be costlier than anything, which makes air freight forwarding a blessing!
